Member Code of Conduct
Knoxville Movement Collective ("KMC") exists to build community through movement. Our goal is to provide a welcoming, respectful, and inclusive environment where people of all backgrounds can connect through fitness, recreation, and shared experiences.
By becoming a member of Knoxville Movement Collective, participating in KMC events, or joining any official KMC community space, you agree to abide by the following guidelines.
COMMUNITY STANDARDS
Be Respectful
Treat all members, volunteers, instructors, venue staff, and guests with kindness, respect, and courtesy.
Knoxville Movement Collective welcomes people of all backgrounds, beliefs, identities, and experience levels. Harassment, discrimination, bullying, intimidation, threats, hate speech, or abusive behavior will not be tolerated.
Keep It Movement-Focused
Knoxville Movement Collective exists to foster community through movement. We encourage conversations, events, and interactions that support our mission and help members connect.
Respect Privacy
Respect the privacy of fellow members. Do not share another member's personal information, photos, or private conversations without their consent.
Follow Event Leadership
At Knoxville Movement Collective events, members are expected to follow reasonable instructions from organizers, volunteers, instructors, and venue staff to help ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.
Community Partnerships
Knoxville Movement Collective may occasionally partner with local businesses, organizations, sponsors, or community groups whose involvement aligns with our mission and provides value to our members.
Any partnerships, sponsorships, or promotional content shared through official KMC channels are approved solely at the discretion of KMC leadership.
Groupme code of conduct
The official KMC GroupMe serves as a primary member communication platform for Knoxville Movement Collective. It is intended to keep members informed, connected, and engaged with the community.
Appropriate Conduct
Members are expected to maintain respectful and appropriate communication within the GroupMe.
The following are not permitted:
Harassment, bullying, discrimination, or personal attacks
Hate speech or discriminatory language
Sexually explicit, obscene, or otherwise inappropriate content
Threatening, intimidating, or abusive communication
Content intended to provoke, disrupt, or create unnecessary conflict
Healthy discussion and respectful disagreement are welcome. Personal attacks and disruptive behavior are not.
Stay on Topic
Please use designated GroupMe channels for their intended purpose and help keep conversations organized and relevant.
Membership Access
The KMC GroupMe is reserved for approved Knoxville Movement Collective members.
Members may not add individuals directly to the GroupMe. Anyone wishing to join must complete the Knoxville Movement Collective membership process and receive approval before being granted access.
No Advertising, Solicitation, or Outside Promotion
The KMC GroupMe is not a platform for advertising, recruiting, solicitation, or promotion of outside organizations and activities.
Without prior approval from KMC leadership, members may not promote or recruit for:
Businesses or professional services
Products, sales, or referral programs
Fundraisers or donation requests
Religious organizations, services, or events
Political organizations, campaigns, or events
Outside clubs, groups, organizations, or events
Recruitment-based programs or opportunities
If you believe an outside organization, event, resource, or opportunity would genuinely benefit the Knoxville Movement Collective community, please contact KMC leadership for approval before sharing.
No Unsolicited Direct Messages
Do not use the KMC GroupMe or member directory to send unsolicited promotional, recruiting, fundraising, sales, or marketing messages to other members.
Respect the privacy of fellow members and communicate in ways that are appropriate and welcome.
Moderation
KMC leadership and designated moderators may remove content, redirect conversations, or take other moderation actions as needed to maintain a positive community environment.
Failure to comply with these guidelines may result in:
Removal of posts or comments
Temporary or permanent removal from the KMC GroupMe
Suspension from Knoxville Movement Collective events or activities
Revocation of Knoxville Movement Collective membership
These decisions are made at the discretion of KMC leadership.
These guidelines are intended to foster a positive, welcoming, and movement-focused community. They are not exhaustive. Knoxville Movement Collective leadership reserves the right to address conduct that is inconsistent with the mission, values, or spirit of the organization, even if it is not specifically outlined above.
By participating in Knoxville Movement Collective, you acknowledge and agree to follow the Community Guidelines & Member Code of Conduct.
