Creating a safe, welcoming, and respectful community for all.
Knoxville Movement Collective is committed to providing free, inclusive outdoor events where everyone feels safe, supported, and respected. The information below outlines our expectations for behavior at KMC events, how we handle safety concerns, and how members can confidentially report anything that makes them feel uncomfortable.
This policy applies to all participants, volunteers, leaders, and partners at KMC events.
KMC Safety & Conduct Policy
Our Commitment to Safety
We strive to create an environment where all participants feel welcome and able to enjoy movement in community. While our events take place in public spaces and participation is voluntary, KMC leadership is committed to:
Responding to safety concerns promptly and appropriately
Maintaining member confidentiality
Upholding clear standards of conduct
Ensuring that all KMC leaders follow established procedures
Removing individuals from events when necessary to protect the community
KMC is a volunteer-driven nonprofit organization. Participation in any event is at your own risk, and individuals are responsible for their own safety and decisions during activities.
Community Conduct Expectations
To maintain a positive and respectful environment, all participants are expected to:
Treat others with respect and kindness
Respect personal boundaries and personal space
Use appropriate and respectful language
Follow instructions from KMC leaders and volunteers
Act in a way that supports the safety and comfort of all members
Behavior that may result in removal from events includes (but is not limited to):
Harassment, unwanted attention, or inappropriate comments
Behavior that makes another participant feel unsafe or uncomfortable
Disruptive or threatening behavior
Repeated violations of community expectations
Refusal to comply with leader instructions
KMC reserves the right to ask any participant to leave an event at any time if their behavior poses a concern for the safety or comfort of others.

How KMC Handles Reports
Participation in KMC events is voluntary and at your own risk. By attending any KMC activity, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

Outdoor activities involve inherent risks, including terrain, weather, wildlife, traffic, and other environmental factors.
You are responsible for your own safety, personal awareness, and physical readiness to participate.
KMC leadership, volunteers, and organizers are not liable for injuries, accidents, or loss of personal property that may occur at events.
KMC reserves the right to remove any individual whose behavior compromises the safety or comfort of others.
