Your city. Your pace. Your people.

Your city. Your pace. Your people.

KMC Running is a community-first run club based in Knoxville, built for people who want to get outside, move their bodies, and feel good doing it.

We’re not here to obsess over pace — we’re here for consistent miles, fresh air, and good people.

Whether you’re training for your next race or just starting your running journey, there’s space for you here.

Come run with us. We’ll save you a spot.

  • KMC Running is Knoxville’s newest run club built on community, not competition. We meet weekly for free, all-paces runs around the city. Whether you’re training, returning from a break, or just looking for connection, you’re welcome here. No pressure. No fees. Just movement that feels good and people who cheer you on.

  • We run together twice a week — and you’re always invited!

    Sundays at 9:00 AM

We meet at Partial Coffee & Wine for a relaxed 2-mile loop through the neighborhood — all paces welcome. After the run, we hang out inside with 10% off post-run drinks (thanks, Partial!).

Thursdays at 7:00 PM, we switch it up with 2–3 mile evening runs at different spots around Knoxville, like Sequoyah Hills, Old City, or the Neyland Greenway.

All paces are welcome, and we always share meetup details ahead of time on GroupMe and Strava so you know where to go and what to expect.

  • KMC Running is for anyone who loves the idea of getting outside, moving their body, and running at a pace that feels good. This isn’t about racing or keeping up — it’s for people who appreciate easy miles, fresh air, and good company. Whether you’re getting back into running or just looking for a chill crew to move with, you’ll fit right in.

  • Maria leads from the front, while Ashley walks or jogs at the very back (always the last runner) to make sure everyone stays together. At this run club, no one’s ever left behind — it’s truly for all paces.

Most people run between a 9 to 13 minute mile, but there’s no “right” pace here. We group up so everyone has someone to run with, and you’re always welcome to take walk breaks or adjust the route to fit your vibe that day.

If you’re working toward that 13-minute mile range, reach out to Ashley or Maria — we’ll help you get there together!

  • Wear something comfortable and breathable — you’ll definitely warm up once we get going.

Make sure to stay hydrated, especially as it gets warmer out. We recommend bringing water and adding electrolytes (like Liquid I.V) if you can.

Sunscreen and sunglasses are also a smart move.

Bring a friend, bring your dog, or just bring yourself. Everyone’s welcome.

BTW: A light snack about 30 minutes before the run (think banana or Pop-Tart) can go a long way!

  • We usually still run in light rain, but we’ll cancel if it’s storming or unsafe. Check GroupMe and Instagram for weather updates before each run.

  • Yes! We adjust times and routes during the colder months but KMC keeps moving year-round.

  • Absolutely.

KMC Running is our official run club and race team — you’ll see us at start lines across Knoxville and beyond, racing hard or just in it for the fun. Whether you’re chasing a PR or soaking up the vibes, we show up together.

For those who want to take it further, KMC Racing is our competitive branch across all movement disciplines — running, biking, paddling, and more. It’s how we represent KMC in the wider race and event scene.

So yes, we race. And we race as a team. Look for KMC Running at your next race!

What to Know

Before You Run.

MEET our HEad coach, MARIA

Hi everyone! So happy you found our little community!

My love for running began on the soccer field, where I played midfield throughout middle and high school. I loved covering the full length of the field — it pushed me physically and mentally, and I thrived on that challenge.

After graduating in 2020, I carried that love of movement and grit into distance running. When the pandemic hit, running became more than just exercise — it became a way to stay grounded, get outside, and take care of my mental health. Over time, it turned into a kind of therapy for me.

Whether I’m clearing my head on an easy run, pushing my limits in a speed workout, or exploring new routes with friends, running continues to bring me joy, perspective, and community.

It’s given me a sense of accomplishment and connection, and I’m passionate about helping others experience that too.

I’ve completed a wide range of races — from 5Ks and 10Ks to half marathons and a full marathon — and I’m currently training for another marathon this July in Utah.

I am so excited to meet each of you and go on some adventures together!
