Frequently Asked Questions

  • Think of KMC as your run club, paddleboarding crew, hiking group, hot girl walk club—pretty much any outdoor adventure you can imagine—under one roof. KMC is a collective of people who love getting outside, lifting each other up, and giving back to our city.

We host structured events like KMC Running every Sunday and Thursday, plus group paddleboarding days, hikes, and even casual strolls on Knoxville’s greenways. Giving back is at the core of who we are, so volunteer events with our charity partner are coming soon!

However you like to move, there’s a spot for you here. Once you submit your new member form, you’ll get invited to our Strava group to keep up with KMC Running and join our GroupMe—a big community group chat to share plans, meetups, and more. We’re sure you’ll love it here!

  • Nope! While KMC Running is a big part of what we do, we also host paddles, hikes, and seasonal events. If you love moving outside (or want to start), there’s something here for you.

  • Fill out our new member form to get started! Once you complete the form, you’ll be added to our community GroupMe, Strava club, and email list.

You can also follow us on Instagram to stay in the loop and see what we’re up to.

  • It’s completely free to join. Knoxville Movement Collective is not a for-profit business—our goal is to build community, not revenue.

We offer merch and supporter memberships to help cover the cost of running the club, and at least 25% of all profits are donated to our charity partner.

  • Not at all. All paces, all levels, all bodies welcome. Our events are about moving in ways that feel good, not competition.

  • All across Knoxville! We post meetup details in advance, with locations ranging from downtown greenways to blueways, trails, and parks.

  • For most meetups, just wear comfortable clothes and shoes you can move in. Water, sunscreen, and sunglasses are always good to have—especially during summer.

KMC doesn’t supply gear, but we’ll always have some extra water on hand in case someone forgets. We’ll also share specific details if anything special is needed for a particular event.

  • We’re looking for volunteer leaders! If you’re passionate about biking, paddling, hiking—or just organizing cool stuff—apply to join KMC leadership here.

  • Great! As a member of KMC, you always have the ability to create your own events and invite your team. This is your community too!
