After moving to Knoxville from NYC in early 2025, Janie spent her free time outdoors. She fell in love with the city through running and exploring the trails, lakes and greenways, and ultimately found community here through being active. She is passionate about spending as much time outside as possible and sharing that love with other people. 

Janie grew up in Memphis where she ran track and cross country competitively. She spent the past 8 years in Brooklyn, NY where she earned her B.A. in Critical & Visual Studies at Pratt Institute, began her career in the music industry, and played in a band with her best friend (who she moved down here with!). She now works as a contract designer and illustrator within the music industry, where she specializes in product design and hand-drawn flyers. 

Aside from running, Janie also enjoys going to shows, shooting hoops, and sippin on a crispy beer on a hot summer evening.
